This blog took some time to get posted.... But no more delays and here is my chocolaty blog :D
I made some chocolate truffles for my family though I never did attend any chocolate making classes, its one of my friends who inspired me from her basic chocolate making skill which she taught me without any hesitation.
With google as a great gift I explored the chocolate making world, also bought some cookery books (not that everything helped) but it certainly helped me brushing the basic skills.
And this one is the easiest also one of the tried and tasted recipe. It can win you applauds from your folks.
So go ahead try it and treat your family & friends.
Ingredients
260 grams - grated chocolate
1/2 cup - heavy cream
1 tbsp - unsalted butter (optional)
2 tbsp - liquor (or) 1 tbsp coffee diluted in 1 tbsp water
5 tbsp - cocoa powder for coating
handful of roasted almonds (optional)
Method
Step 1 : - Grate the chocolate nicely in a MB (microwave bowl)
Step 2 : - Put the cream in a pan and heat it at slow flame add butter (optional)
Step 3 : - As the pan corner starts turning brown, its the hint that your cream is ready (do not boil it)
Step 4: - Pour the cream on the grated chocolate and keep stirring for 3 to 5 minutes
Step 5: - Now add the liquor (or diluted coffee)
Step 6 : - Use a spoon and keep stirring at good speed until the mixture blends nicely. If you find lumps in
the mixture, place it in the microwave for few minutes. The mixture needs to blend in smoothly
(shown in the picture below)
Step 7 : - Refrigerate for 2 to 3 hours
Step 8 : - Remove the mixture from the fridge, its solid enough to make small balls of any shape that you
want you. Also you can set a piece of roasted almond to every chocolate ball you make.
Step 9 : - As you make balls place it in a plate with cocoa powder and shake the plate as the balls will roll in
it and get coated automatically.
Keep the Chocolate truffle balls in the fridge for 15 minutes (just to get set with the shape).
Happy chocolate making all.
